We Disciple

Jesus, prior to his departure to be with the Father gave his first disciples their mission:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you and I am with you always even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20)

So it is now our turn to do our part and continue his mission.

Discipleship is the process where growth, maturity and development happen as a follower of Christ.  It's not a Bible study, a social circle or a small group.  Throughout the Bible the lesson of discipleship is evident as we see leaders taking a small group of people around him or her and pouring his or her life into them.  The most recognizable model of discipleship is Christ as He spent three years walking alongside of, and experiencing life with, His 13 apostles.

What separates discipleship from other small groups is an intentionality towards life-on-life relational missional discipleship underpinned by God’s truth as revealed in the Bible and with a focus on the process of maturity.

This ministry is relatively new at TGAC where we currently run a men’s journey group and a women’s journey group.
