Ministry to Seniors

Friendship Circle for Senior Citizens

The Friendship Circle is "a social group to cater for older women of the district, not necessarily of the Anglican faith".    The purpose is to be a group of people who cherish meeting together on the first Wednesday of each month, February to December, for Holy Communion, fellowship and sharing a meal.  The group consists of senior ladies, although men have been members over the years.

Friendship Circle meets at St Mark’s at 10:15am on the first Wednesday of each month from February to December inclusive.  Some members join in the Wednesday 9:30am Communion Service.  Each member receives a program of activities.  Guest speakers are sometimes featured and activities include musical mornings and occasional outings.

Singles Plus

The purpose of this group is to provide a time of fellowship for the older single (mostly widowed) ladies of St Marks.  This group meets to encourage each other, share concerns and joys,  go on outings and enjoy each other’s company.

Regis TreeTops Ministry

A hymn and prayer service is held on the third level of the facility every third and fifth Wednesday of the month.  The service is open to residents of all denominations and starts at 11:00 am and goes for about 20 to 25 minutes.  For those residents who are confined to their rooms, Holy Communion can be given to them in their room.

Regis Coffee Club

The Coffee Club is an activity for residents to come together from the 1st and 2nd levels of the facility for a chat and move away from their usual area, the coffee time takes place in the Explorer Cafe on the ground floor of the facility.

Regis Men’s Club

The purpose of this ministry is to create an atmosphere of fellowship between the Regis men and St.  Mark’s parish.  This is achieved through its volunteers, to provide enjoyment and stimulation for the Regis men via an external source, and to assist the Regis staff in the provision of a caring environment.

Regis Church Service

A monthly Ecumenical Church Service conducted on the third Wednesday of the month at 11:00am followed by Holy Communion which is also administered to individuals who are unable to join the group.
