Ministry to Children and Their Families

Children's Church - Is held during the 9:30am Family Service on Sunday morning during school terms. It aims to support families growing in faith together, by providing instruction during the service at an age appropriate level, as well as equipping parents, guardians and guardians and grandparents to consolidate the Sunday lessons at home during the week.

Our three Children's Church Groups are:

LEAP FROGS Ages 2 - Prep

Leap Frogs introduces 2-4 year olds to God's love through stories, craft and play. It allows young children to come to church with parents and keeps the experience positive for both. Parents are welcome to join the groups at any time.!

SUNBEAMS - Grades 1 and 2

The Children learn about God through play based learning, stories craft and lots of fun games.

JESUS' KIDS - Grades 3+

During class, emphasis is shared between biblical literacy through oral story telling, reading and role plays and familiarisation with the Liturgy of the Anglican Church. God is praise through sharing, prayer and song. Opportunity is given for the children to be involved with wider outreach activities, like Operation Christmas Child.

Through this we encourage them in their journey as they get to know our living Saviour Jesus Christ. They are also learning to live out  Jesus' love through their own life choices and actions in the wider community, founded in scriptural knowledge.

Children’s Church starts back this Sunday

Sunday 26 April 2015

Welcome to Term 2 of Childrens Church at St Marks.

We had a wonderful and very busy Term 1!  We held our very first ‘Led by the Little People Service’, which was a great success, the children did a fantastic job participating in the Service.  We look forward to the next one!

We also thoroughly enjoyed the Kids Easter Service, a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the afternoon including leading the service, music, and afternoon tea.  The children who were at Church on Easter Sunday, had a fun time doing an Easter egg hunt at the end of the service. Thanks Emma for organising the eggs!!

Important Dates for the Term:

Sunday 17 May – Led by The Little People Service

Sunday 24 May - Pentecost Party Day

Sunday 21 June – Play performed at the 9:30am service.

Shoe Boxes - in preparation for our Operation Christmas Child outreach this year, we ask if you are able to keep your shoeboxes, in preparation for our launch in July.  We will need approximately 50 boxes (no bigger than A4 size).  During the next school holidays a working bee for families will be organised to cover the boxes in Christmas wrapping.

Congratulations to Catherine, Justin and Hamish on the safe arrival of their beautiful daughter/sister Eliza.

Thank you for bringing your children to St Mark's so we can all learn more about God's love together.  If you have any ideas or contributions you would like to make to our Children's Church ministry please do not hesitate to see Karen, Emma, Amanda or Lorna.

Love and blessings
